The section of tiles to the left represents a work-in-progress series named “Art in the Eye of the Beholder." They display collage/images I have taken from museum exhibits, street art, graffiti, etc., and as the series title suggests, their meaning and appeal is mediated via the engagement of the beholder. The series that is shown below (scroll down) is a homage to Madame Jumel, Aaron Burr and the home they once briefly shared, which is an important NYC Historical House and museum, the Jumel Mansion (https://www.morrisjumel.org) This series represents collages of the mansion’s portraits, wallpaper patterns and architectural details. A selection of these tiles have been gifted to the Jumel Mansion and can be viewed there.
